Provides leadership and support, coordinates allocation of unit resources and nursing staff. Coordinates staffing for current and next shift. Makes shift assignments taking into consideration patient acuity and staff expertise. Delegates patient care activities to unit and ancillary staff. Assigns additional duties as appropriate. Participates in orientation of new staff. Provides input regarding employee evaluations. Demonstrates the ability to support staff with problem solving and decision making. Works with the staffing/Supervisor Office to coordinate admissions to the floor.
