The Nurse Practitioner is primarily responsible for examining and treating patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. This includes, but not limited to, ensuring proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Required Education/Required Training: Master's Degree in area of specialty required. Licensed or eligibility as a Nurse Practitioner in DC, a DC Controlled Substance Number, and a Federal DEA Number, CPR certification and other applicable statuses which addresses the provision of medical and medically related services in DC. All Licenses held must be current and retained in good standing. Required Experience: 2-3 years of related experience. Experience working with underserved or homeless populations preferred. * For correctional position-correctional experience- preferred but not required.
