Phlebotomist (BU)

High School Graduate. Under the supervision of the Administrative Director and the department Manager, the Phlebotomist is responsible for the following: a) Obtaining the venous, arterial and capillary blood specimans for laboratory analysis in accordance with laboratory policy and procedures. b) Performing bleeding time tests. c) Performing Point of Care applications as directord the the POC Coordinator (outpatient draw stations) d) Processing specimens in accordance with established laboratory policy. e) Performing required clerical functions as required. f) Maintaining adequate supply inventory. g) Performing patient registration and test ordering (output draw stations). h) Performing other related duties as required and directed. Certified as Pbt(ASCP) or CLPlb(NCA) at time of hire or within two years of hire. Work requires ability to perform several tasks simultaneously. Requires familiarity with Windows computer environment. Proficiency in medical terminology.
