Coordinates total nursing care for patients from assessment to discharge. Works cooperatively with nursing personnel and other patient care team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Must have interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with patients of the following ages: neonate (birth to 1 month), infant (1 month to 1 year), pediatric (1 year to 12 years), adolescent (13 years to 17 years), adult (18 years to 64 years), geriatric (64 years and above), families, physicians, and other hospital personnel. Must have the clinical skills necessary for sound decision making, assessments, and nursing expertise. Must have the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to lift, position and transfer patients.
